My Experience and Certifications Check out my resume.
I’ve always been a doula at heart. The journey of my soul’s work as a doula began when I attended my first birth for a friend over a decade ago and was asked to be a birthing coach. I had no childbirth education at that time, but was able to provide support and comfort before and after the birth, and realized it was my calling.
I became a professional doula in 2015 after I was trained by Traci Weafer of Maternal Instincts Doula Services, a doula of over twenty years experience and an Evidence Based Birth Instructor. I am certified nationally with Stillbirthday, as a birth and bereavement doula. I also obtained my Rebozo Certification from Gena Kirby in 2015. I also have received training from Evidence Based Birth, Spinning Babies, and extensive advocacy training from Traci Weafer. Traci remains a mentor and significant presence in my doula work to this day.
I worked in Montgomery, Alabama for almost two years. My family made the decision to move back to my home-town in the Inland Northwest in 2016. I am now serving the people, families, and the birthing community of North Idaho, Eastern Washington, and surrounding areas.

My Own Birth Journeys Here’s a snapshot of my inspiration.
We are a blended family and have five children, I gave birth to four of them.
I gave birth for the first time in 2010. Though my first birth had no obvious complications, I felt less than empowered with very little birth knowledge and experienced severe back labor. I was confined to a hospital bed and unable to work through the pain, resulting in an epidural. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, but spent the next year wondering why I felt so troubled about my birth.
Two years later, I had a very different experience and gave birth to a nine pound baby without any pain medications. I delivered in a room full of student doctors who had never before witnessed an unmedicated birth. This time, I felt an amazing birth high, along with a feeling of total triumph.
In 2014, I became pregnant with my daughter. Armed with even more education, I chose the care of a midwife and asked two birth doulas to attend. I gave birth to a posterior positioned baby - no small feat, again with no pain medication. With my third successful vaginal birth, I felt empowered, loved, and supported with the care I received from my midwife and doulas.

In 2020, after five years as a doula, I chose to have one more baby. My dreams of having a home birth were realized and my baby boy came earth side with the support of midwives and my incredible partner. This experience was one I had always dreamed of and I felt absolutely spectacular following my completely un-medicated birth!

My Doula Work A note from me to you about my passion.
A doula is someone who:
“Doula” comes from a Greek word that means “servant.” I spent several years as a preschool teacher, a nanny/household manager, and a mom before finding the word “doula” and realized I fit the description. It wasn’t until I witnessed the treasure of doula care myself that I began my own doula journey, but I feel as though I’ve always been a doula at heart. It just took me a long time to define myself in that way, and discover a career I’m so fully passionate about. I love to help women uncover the power they hold within themselves during this time. I do not empower women; I’m simply a mirror reflecting what is already within them.
A doula is someone who:
- understands birthing options
- gives unbiased support and information
- helps find answers that fit best to each individual
- offers emotional, educational and physical support
- offers education and advocacy

My commitments to my clients are simple:
- I’m their servant.
- I treat them with kindness, love, and compassion.
- I help them educate themselves on all their options with evidence based information.
- I honor them with physical, mental, and emotional support.
- I’m a servant to their family.
- I help partners know how to be involved and supportive within the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.
- I will advocate when necessary and teach my clients advocacy skills also.

My commitment to the birthing community comes from my heart as I offer love and support to all on this journey. I want to help people to trust the process, make informed decisions, and feel safe.
My commitment to the world is my steadfast belief that we must treat birthing people with the utmost honor and respect in the process of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

My Clients Thoughts about our partnership.
My clients are people who want a birth experience that is about more than pain and suffering. They want to be informed and make the best choices for themselves along their own journey. I believe in educating them on all the options available, helping them to make the best choices for themselves, and tailoring each step to the best fit for them and their families. It’s important to help partners feel like more than just an observer in the process, by giving them tools that help them become a key supporter.
Research indicates that women who don’t utilize doulas tend to have less positive experiences. They don’t typically know all their options or how to decipher (especially in labor) what their provider is doing or saying. It’s very difficult to advocate for yourself, especially in labor when so many things can be hard to understand.
While it doesn’t matter what type of birth you choose, it’s important that you are educated, loved, and supported without bias. We work together to ensure the birth experience you have is exactly what is meant to be and the choices are yours alone to make. I work with people to achieve their best birth experience by helping them trust the process, make informed decisions, and feel safe.
I accept clients up to 35 weeks. We build a strong relationship founded on trust during pregnancy that improves their birth experiences. I assist with any pregnancy questions they may have. I work with both in-hospital, and home-birth/birth center clients, and if any medical questions come up, I refer them to their care provider. I can answer many questions with evidence-based information and we research questions together.
We want to ensure our work together is a good, comfortable fit! If you have questions on how we could work together, drop me a note here! Let’s chat! Find me on social media here for updates and information in our community.
